Factory mirror caps are painted plastic. These are not. AutoTecknic Version II M-Inspired Dry Carbon Mirror Covers replace the OEM caps on your BMW F30 3-Series, F32 or F36 4-Series, F22 2-Series, F87 M2, F20 1-Series or E84 X1 with a sharper M-inspired profile made from pre-preg dry carbon fiber.

Version II is AutoTecknic's current design, with a different profile from the discontinued Version I. You get a matched driver and passenger pair in 3K 2x2 twill weave with a gloss finish.

Real Pre-Preg Dry Carbon Mirror Covers

Pre-preg means the resin is already in the carbon fabric before it goes into the mold. Each cover is then autoclave cured under uniform heat and pressure, which removes the air pockets and resin voids common in wet carbon layups. The result is a tighter, cleaner weave and a stiffer part.

This is not a vinyl wrap, printed carbon-look film or hydrodip. The weave you see is the part itself, sealed under a protective gloss clear coat.

Installation Notes

Most owners install these at home in under 30 minutes with a plastic trim tool. Work slowly. The factory clips are the only thing holding the cap in place, and they are easier to break when cold.

1. Fold the mirror and tilt the mirror glass inward to reach the back of the factory cap.
2. Release the factory cap clips with a plastic trim tool and pull the cap off.
3. Line up the AutoTecknic cover with the OEM mounting points.
4. Press evenly around the edge until every clip seats.
5. Repeat on the other side and check that the mirror folds and adjusts normally.
