Arc Terminator - EKPM2 PNP Cooler Kit || E60
Arc Terminator - EKPM2 PNP Cooler Kit || E60
The full plug-and-play EKPM3 / EKPM2 cooler kit is designed specifically for E60 BMWs using an EKPM3 or EKPM2 fuel pump control module. This is recommended for anyone using a low-pressure fuel pump that is larger than the OEM fuel pump.
There are two versions of the kit, one with a relay and one without a relay. The relay kit is for those who would prefer to not put an additional load on their 12v outlet circuit due to using that circuit for something with a high load already. The non-relay kit will work perfectly for any normal use of the 12v outlet circuit and only adds an additional up to 0.30 amps onto that circuit, which is very minimal.
If you would like a custom color, choose the "Custom Color" option. Once we receive your order, we will reach out to you via email to ask about your color choice. Please note that custom colors are made-to-order and may take up to 2 weeks before they can be shipped out.
We also offer a DIY kit that includes everything you'll need to create your own active cooling solution here: https://arcterminator.com/products/ekp-active-cooling-diy-kit
The cooler housing is designed to fit over the EKP module just like the OEM housing and fits with plenty of room in the stock EKP location. The housing is 3D printed using durable PLA+ or PETG, depending on the color choice. The full kit is printed and assembled in the U.S.A. by Arc Terminator LLC.

Please note that if you have an HW06 + (Slim EKPM3), you must choose the HW06 option, as the pre-HW06 housings will not fit.
10% of all proceeds from pink housings sold will be donated towards Breast Cancer research.

Why this kit exists:
The EKPM3 and EKPM2 have been shown to overheat and cause vehicle shutdown issues when larger fuel pumps that draw more current than OEM are used. This shutdown comes from critical components on the EKPM3 and EKPM2 overheating when larger current draws are coming from the fuel pump. The PNP kit comes with heatsinks for the most heat-sensitive and heat-producing components in the EKPM3 / EKPM2 to further increase cooling effectiveness. When paired with a potent 5015 blower fan that directs a large amount of airflow through the cooler housing, the EKPM3 / EKPM2 stays significantly cooler, which prolongs the life of the module. We also recommend anyone using a larger fuel pump than OEM properly code their EKP module with Pro-Tool's built-in "Voltage Fix" feature. More information about this is in the FAQ section below.
FAQ:
Q: The EKPM2 has large electrolytic capacitors in the middle, will they block all the airflow?
A: The 5015 blower fan has plenty of power to push past, over, and to the sides of the large capacitors and will effectively cool both transistors on the front of the EKPM2.
Q: This is 3D Printed, will it be durable enough to be in my car?
A: Yes, absolutely! Our housings are made from very durable PLA+ or PETG (depending on color options) and are designed to protect the EKP module from accidental impacts that may occur with objects in your trunk.
Q: How do I perform a "Voltage Fix" using Pro-Tool? (EKPM3 Only)
A: Check out this helpful guide from Skrillah416 on the Spool Street Forums: https://www.spoolstreet.com/threads/e60-fuel-pump-voltage-fix-coding-with-protool.5816/
Q: Why is a relay used instead of just tapping into the wires coming out of the EKP to the fuel pump as I've seen in other DIYs?
A: The relay is used in order to take any additional load off of the EKP module as well as to reduce any signal noise that may be produced by the fan. The fan draws less than 1amp of current, and a relay may seem to be "over-kill," but it's the best way to keep the fan circuit isolated and protects other electronic devices from additional interference.
Q: Is there any downsides to using the kit that doesn't come with the relay?
A: There are not any downsides to using this variant of the PNP kit and it will work just as well as the kit with the relay.
Q: I'm a DIY'er, can I buy just the housing?
A: Absolutely! The housing alone is available here: Cooler Housing Only Also, if you've got a 3D Printer and you want to do your own thing, the STL file is 100% FREE for download here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5478339
Other Information:
Depending on heatsink availability, you may receive heatsinks that look different than what is pictured. However, we have tested both variants of heatsinks and have not noticed any measurable difference in heat dissipation from either style.
Please note that the actual EKPM3 or EKPM2 Fuel Pump Control Module is NOT included with this kit and is only shown for fitment.
