Arc Terminator - EKPM3 Upgrade Service (Non-M Cars Only)

If you're using an upgraded low pressure fuel pump and have concerns about your EKP module overheating or dying quickly due to the added current demands, we can upgrade your factory EKMP3 to supply over 30A of current! 

Note: This service will not work for M-Cars or any B-Series motors (M3, M5, M4, M2, 340i, 540i, etc...)

How Does The Service Work?

Our upgrade service involves you sending us your factory EKPM3. Once we receive your EKPM3, we will remove the factory half bridge IC, which is the weak point on these modules, and then we'll install a new half bridge IC that is capable of supplying 22A MORE than the factory EKPM3's half bridge IC. Once the new half bridge is installed, we will send your newly upgraded EKMP3 right back to you!

What's The Turnaround Time?

The turnaround time depends on the options you choose for the upgrade service. Typical turnaround times for each option are listed below:

1. Upgrade with no active cooling - Usually 1 business day if received before 12:00pm EDT.
2. Upgrade with temperature controlled active cooling - 1 business day if received before 12:00pm EDT, otherwise 2 business days
3. Upgrade with non-temperature controlled active cooling - Usually 1 business day if received before 12:00pm EDT.

What Do I Need To Do?

If you purchased the option to use your own shipping, please send us your EKPM3 via USPS only to our P.O. Box listed below. You'll need to safely package your EKPM3 with an anti-static bag and sufficient packing material to avoid damage to the module during transit. You will also need to include a return label as well or we can send you an invoice for one if you did not include one. We also recommend that you purchase shipping insurance in the event that USPS loses or damages your package in transit.

If you selected the option to have us ship you packing materials and a return label, we will ship you a package with all necessary packing materials and return label. Upon receiving the packing materials with return label, please follow the instructions inside of the box to ensure that your EKPM3 is safely packed and shipped to us.

What's the difference between the cooling options?

We always recommend active cooling to prolong the lifespan of the EKPM3's components. Even though the new half bridge ICs can provide significantly more current and they naturally run cooler, the rest of the components can still suffer from high heat exposure.

1. Temperature controlled 40mm quiet dual ball fan bearing option - this option adds a thermal switch that activates the fan when the half bridge hits 50°C. The dual ball bearing fan has a manufacturer's lifespan rating of 50,000 hours (5.71 years) worth of continuous run time. The fan is nearly silent for this option.
2. Temperature controlled 40mm quiet genuine Noctua fan option - this option adds a thermal switch that activates the fan when the half bridge hits 50°C. The genuine 40mm Noctua fan has a manufacturer's lifespan rating of >150,000 hours (17.12 years) worth of continuous run time. The fan is nearly silent for this option.
3. Non-Temperature controlled 40mm quiet dual ball fan bearing option - this option adds a 40mm dual ball bearing fan that will turn on when the ignition is on and will turn off when the ignition is off. The dual ball bearing fan has a manufacturer's lifespan rating of 50,000 hours (5.71 years) worth of continuous run time. The fan is nearly silent for this option.
4. Non-Temperature controlled 40mm quiet genuine Noctua fan option - this option adds a 40mm genuine Noctua fan that will turn on when the ignition is on and will turn off when the ignition is off. The genuine 40mm Noctua fan has a manufacturer's lifespan rating of >150,000 hours (17.12 years) worth of continuous run time. The fan is nearly silent for this option.

Other Information: 

If your module is burnt out or has a damaged PCB that we cannot repair, we will send your module back and refund you minus the cost of shipping (if shipping is purchased through us). Additionally we cannot guarantee that upgrading your EKPM3 will fix any issues you may currently have with your vehicle. Arc Terminator LLC is not responsible for any lost or damaged items once the item is in transit. We recommend that you insure your package before sending it to us and insure the return label as well. If your EKPM3 is sent to us without the usage of an anti-static bag, we cannot provide a warranty for the upgraded EKPM3 as it may have suffered ESD damage during transit. 

Warranty Information:

Arc Terminator LLC provides a 90 day limited warranty on customer-supplied EKPM3s for this upgrade service. The warranty includes replacement of the half bridge IC if it prematurely fails. The warranty also includes replacement housings, fans and fan control boards. The warranty's service period begins on the day you receive your upgraded EKPM3.
